Day 15 of the Matthew Bible Lego Challenge! In this story, Jesus is asked what the greatest commandment is. He answers that ALL the commandments are the most important, boiling them down to two overreaching commands: Love God most, then love others.

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” – Matthew 22:37-40

If you haven’t downloaded the printable yet, you want to do that right away! You can do the challenge on your own (there are 34 days total with copywork and notebooking pages) or you can use it to follow along with us here and share your creations with us on the Proverbial Homemaker Facebook pageTwitter, and Instagram!

For the 15th day of the challenge, we read all of Matthew 22 and spent some time talking about the greatest commandment. We talked about what obeying those commandments would look like in our home. What examples in our day exepmplify these commands? Where can we ask God for help in obeying Him?

It is also interesting to read through the 10 commandments and talk about how each of them points to one or both of these “greatest commandments.”

The copywork for the challenge is Matthew 23:40, which says that these two commands are the foundation of all the law and the prophets.  The printable includes a drawing and writing page for those who would rather draw the scene.
