Building with Legos is such a creative activity that encourages several important skills and can be great fun for the whole family. You might want to make sure you have some basic building block sets on-hand. This classic 484-piece kit is a good starting point.

    Many of these books can be found at your local library. Just a word of warning–you may have to wait a while to actually get the books. My son was on waiting lists for quite a while (almost a year for one of the books) but decided the book was well worth the wait. Not only was the book fun to look at, but taught some patience along the way too. Win win.

      Good point! We own a few of them that I’m glad we have because they are more for reference rather than a few weeks of a project. But at the very least checking them out at the library first would be a good move!
