Busy Mom Essential Oils Kit

The Busy Mom Kit includes Lavender (Greece), Cedarwood, and Blood Orange in equal parts for a variety of uses. The special and versatile properties of these oils make them powerhouses. They also blend together so well so that they smell great and balance each other out!

Lavender (Greece) Lavandula angustifolia – sweet floral scent that is very calming, helping with coughing, muscle cramps, digestion, insomnia, cramping, anxiety, depression, stress, bug bites, wounds, burns, acne, rashes, headaches, and more.

Cedarwood Cedrus atlantica woodsy and sweet, this oil is great for many reasons, not least of which it is perfect for kids as it replaces eucalyptus and peppermint well, which have some safety restrictions for children. It’s also wonderful for congestion, disinfecting, skin issues, and more.

Blood Orange – This sweet citrus with a little tart scent to it. It’s lovely! It helps with digestion, cleanses airborne viruses, helps with cough and cold, boosts immune system, and is more calming than some of the other citruses. You can also use Sweet Orange, Mandarin, or Tangerine in the recipe. But having blood orange is worth it!

The Busy Mom Rollerbottle

Add 2 drops Lavender, 2 drops Cedarwood, and 2 drops Blood Orange to a rollerbottle. Fill the rest of the bottle with carrier oil such as Fractionated Coconut Oil or Jojoba

  • First aid: apply to scrapes and bruises
  • Tummy issues: Apply to stomach to aid digestion
  • Immune boosting: apply to neck before/after being in crowded spaces or at first sign of illness
  • Easing cough and cold: apply to neck and chest to help with coughing, congestion, and runny nose
  • Calming: apply to neck, chest, or feet (best for littlest ones) to calm down and/or aid sleep
  • Hand cleansing: we use this recipe for a hand cleanser but I use my Busy Mom blend in a pinch due to its great germ-fighting properties.

The Busy Mom Diffuser Blend

Add 3 drops Lavender, 3 drops Cedarwood, and 3 drops Blood Orange to a diffuser. Diffuse to help with the following:

  • In the bedroom to aid sleeping
  • Help reduce coughing and cold symptoms
  • Cleanse the air of airborne viruses and germs
  • Boost the immune system at first sign of illness or preventative during cold and flu season
  • Scent the home with a lovely blend!

Busy Mom All-Purpose Cleaner

Add 3 drops Lavender, 3 drops Cedarwood, and 3 drops Blood Orange to 1 cup water 1 cup white vinegar. For extra cleaning power, add just a few drops of castille soap. Put in a spray bottle and shake well before each use.

HI! Do you know if all three of these oils, used in the recipes you’ve listed, are safe during pregnancy? Thanks so much!!

    1. Tauna

Yes they are! According to Robert Tisserand’s book Essential Oil Safety, these are safe for pregnant and nursing moms and children. What you always need to be aware of for those folks though is dilution rate. I use with a 2-3% dilution rate. Here is a cheat sheet that will help you with that if needed: https://www.proverbialhomemaker.com/essential-oils-dilution-rates.html

Do you have a recommendation for cleaning diffusers?

    1. Tauna Meyer

I use a clean cloth and wipe down with water. If it’s particularly funky I add a bit of vinegar and wipe.
