One Year Bible Brick Challenge – January Calendar

I am so excited to share with you the first calendar for our One-Year Bible Brick Challenge! We’re kicking off a whole year of simple Lego challenges and scripture readings that will take us through a survey of the Bible in a year.

You can use it as a fun supplement to your own studies, as a fun family devotion, or as a personal Bible reading plan for older kids. Find more information and tips about different ways to use the One-year Bible Brick Challenge here.

Start with January in the One-Year Bible Brick Challenge! It includes a simple reading plan and a daily build project throughout the month.

Of course, we’re beginning in the beginning with Genesis 1! Download the calendar below and get started anytime.

If you’d like to include some engaging questions and devotions, I recommend pairing this challenge with Bible Road TripBible Road Trip (the Bible curriculum we use) or 365 Great Bible Stories: The Good News from Genesis to Revelation, which is a great simple devotional for younger kids.

Where do you buy leggos that go with Bible stories? This is a great idea! My kids will love it. 🙂

We just use general legos – my kids have collected kits over time for different purposes and we have a giant bin of legos. So we just use things from there and put together objects and scenes creatively! When they didn’t have as many figurines and such, we just found other things to add to the legos. Such as using toothpicks for swords, wiki sticks for other pieces, or even drawing and cutting out pieces to add to the scenes.

    Tauna,

This looks like so much fun! I’d love to try it with my son. He is almost 3 though. Not sure if he’s too young for LEGO’s? He’s pretty smart, I kind of feel like he could do this with my help.

Anyways…do you have a list of LEGO sets we might need? We don’t have any yet and not sure what to buy.

    Thanks!
    Sarah

Any legos are fine! Even duplos, wiki sticks, knex, etc. You can even have them draw! This is just a challenge based on their imagination and the topic of the scripture reading – no step-by-step instructions to follow!

The theme in my classroom this year is legos. I am so excited to use this as part of my bible story time! Thank you so very much !!

      You’re welcome!

I’m really interested in doing this study. We don’t have any Lego blocks because none of my kids have ever really been that interested. I was wondering if a basic set would work with this or if we’d need some special pieces? I’m wondering if I can secure the pieces needed to try the study 🙂
    Thanks

A basic set is fine! This is just a challenge – they build based on their imagination and the challenge prompt, like “build a snake.” You can also have them draw if they want. One of my daughters does that!

I just want to thank you for taking the time to put this together. My kids are LOVING our time in the Word. I have an 11 year old boy and a 6 year old girl and this couldn’t be more perfect. It has been our most peaceful /no pressure/enjoyable time that we’ve had in God’s Word together. I read, they build, and they are able to keep building while we continue to seamlessly have discussion/ask questions the whole time. Thank you!

I am so glad to hear this Allison! I’m going to share it on my page to encourage others. 🙂 Thank you for taking the time to comment!
