Do you know what eight- to twelve-year-olds truly love?

They love facts! Have you ever been regaled with all the information you never needed to know about steam trains, World War II planes, or the height of every major waterfall in the world? Well, maybe you haven’t heard all about one of those three subjects, but you’ve heard all about something.

That’s because the brains of our third- to sixth-graders are primed to absorb and share facts. And, some facts are pretty fun to know! As Christian parents, we want to introduce our kids to facts that are important. There’s no better place to look for important, life-changing facts than God’s Word.

Facts About Creation

The Bible is full of amazing facts about Creation that your kids will want to know! Here are just ten.

  1. God existed before anything else was created. He created everything out of nothing (Genesis 1:1).
  2. God made the light on day one of Creation, but he made the sun on day four (Genesis 1:3-5, 14-19).
  3. God made you just the way you are, on purpose, and he planned all of your days before you were ever born (Psalm 139:13-16).
  4. No one created God, and he will always exist (Psalm 102:25-27).
  5. In fact, God is, he was, and he always will be (Revelation 1:8)!
  6. After God created Adam and Eve, he gave good Creation gifts to his people (Genesis 1:28-29, 2:1-3, 2:15-24).
  7. Did you know that work is a good Creation gift? It is! God gave us work to do as a gift to us (Genesis 2:15).
  8. The Bible says that when we work, we are working for the Lord Jesus Christ, and we will receive a reward (Colossians 3:23-24).
  9. Adam and Eve rebelled against God. Do you know the story? Genesis 3:1-7 tells the story of the event we call the Fall, because sin entered the world.
  10. God made a great plan for our salvation. When we believe in Jesus and confess our belief (Romans 10:9-10), and repent of our sin (Matthew 3:2), we will be saved!

Our kids need to learn about the doctrine of Creation. That’s because the facts God records in his Word aren’t just mere information–they’re life-changing.
