Has the transition of new school routines set your house in chaos lately? I know it has in our home, and highlighted a few areas where our family could really use more peace and sanity. I’ve brushed off the tools we already have used in our home and created a few new ones to share with you today. Here’s mom’s toolkit for a peaceful home!
New Tools for Peace and Sanity
Here are three new printables I made to help bring more peace and sanity to our home.
- Mix n’ Match Menu Planner: Print this planner and laminate it, if possible. Write out seven breakfasts, dinners, and lunches for the week and then circle or write in which selections you’ll make for the next day. Plan ahead without being locked into daily menus!
- Peace Sign: In our home, we have a little “peace chair” at the bottom of the stairs behind the baby gate where kids can escape the chaos and sit quietly to read or collect themselves in a hard moment. This little peace sign can be printed and framed as a little touch of love for their peaceful area.
- Do Not Disturb Door Hangers: The neighbor kid love to come over to play! However, that’s not always ideal during nap time or school. Here are a couple of door hangers to choose from, depending on your mood. 😉

Peace-Keeping Perks
- Teach Me Time clock – changes colors when it’s time to wake up (we LOVE this clock – the kids know to play/read quietly until it turns green at 7:45am)
- Small indoor trampoline – we use this one all the time to get the wiggles out when it’s too hot or cold outside.
- Essential oils for peaceful days – Lavender, Peace and Quiet, and Calming are my favorites to diffuse during the day
These are just a few of the strategies I use to increase the peace in my home. Of course, it’s always big happy noise with a bunch of kids in the house! How do you keep things running smoothly at your house?
