15 Fall Soups for the Crockpot

Fall is fast upon us, and as the weather cools off and the days grow shorter, there’s nothing like a hearty bowl of soup or chowder to warm you up. While opening a can of Campbell’s may be the simpler meal option, these crockpot soups are worth the {very little} extra effort.

Here are 15 fall soups for the crockpot that you are sure to enjoy. Happy fall, ya’ll!

Whether you like chili, chowder, soup, or stew, there’s something for everyone!

Chilis

Slow Cooker Taco Chili from Shugary Sweets — I love recipes that are dump-and-go because they are so quick to fix. The only work required in this yummy recipe is browning the meat. There’s also a link to jalepeno cheddar cornbread that would be delicious with it.

chili

Slow Cooker Chili from Gimme Some Oven — Nothing says fall like a bowl full of chili, and this recipe is loaded with beef, kidney beans, chipotle peppers, and tomatoes. Brown the meat, add it to the crockpot with all the other ingredients, cook on high for 3-4 hours, and serve it up with your favorite toppings.

White Chicken Chili by Design Wine Dine — Top this easy-to-make chili with sour cream, cilantro, lime juice, and nacho chips, and serve with a light salad for a hearty fall dinner.

Chowders

lobster chowder

Lobster Chowder by Baked by Rachel — Bacon, lobster, corn, potatoes, and half-and-half, the ingredients in this chowder are creamy and decadent. A great meal to have when you have company over.

Indian-spiced stew

Indian-Spiced Stew with Chicken & Potatoes by Seasons & Suppers — This recipe modified from Bon Apetit is creamy, spicy, and very flavorful. Cut back on the cayenne pepper if you’re serving to small children. Serve with plain yogurt and Naan, over rice.

Slow Cooker New England Clam Chowder by Six Sisters Stuff — Sure you can buy this soup in the can but it will not be near as tasty as homemade. And using the slow cooker is so easy!

Soups

loaded potato soup

Slow Cooker Loaded Potato Soup from Cooking Classy — There’s just something comforting about a bowl of creamy potato soup, and this recipe is very creamy! Set out cheese, bacon, and green onions, and let each family member add toppings of his or her choice. Yum!

tortilla soup

Slow Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup from Baked by Rachel — With homemade tortilla strips, this recipe would make for the perfect fall meal. It’s a nice balance of spice and flavor and so easy to make.

french onion soup

Crockpot French Onion Soup by Dashing Dish — The onions are caramelized in beef broth and garlic powder then added to the crockpot with the rest of the ingredients. Finish with parmesan and melt Swiss cheese on top. Delish!

Slow Cooker Chicken Parmesan Soup by Foxes Love Lemons — Like chicken parmesan but hate all the carbs? This soup combines everything you like in the classic Italian dish minus all the pasta. It’s garlicky, cheesy, and very filling.

Slow Cooker Broccoli Cheese Soup by Cooking Classy — Broccoli Cheese Soup is the ultimate comfort food for those chilly fall days. This recipe is creamy, hearty, and really cheesy.

Slow Cooker Creamy Tomato, Basil, Parmesan Soup by Tastes Better From Scratch — Tomato Basil Soup is one of my favorites. What I like about this recipe is that there are other veggies like carrots, onions, and celery hiding in there too, bumping the nutritional level up a notch. Super creamy, super yum!

Stews

beef stew

Crock Pot Beef Stew by Family Fresh Meals — A hearty, warm stew filled with beef, carrots, celery, peas, corn, and potatoes. Coating the meat with flour adds a nice thickness and richness.

chicken stew

Rustic Chicken Slow Cooker Stew by Who Needs a Cape? — A filling stew, great for a cool fall night. Pair with some biscuits and a green salad for the perfect meal.

Easy Brunswick Stew by Cooking Light — Throw in all your ingredients, set the slow cooker on high for 8 hours, then eat!

These all look amazing. My very favorite soup is Olive Garden’s Zuppa Toscana. The sausage, kale and potatoes work beautifully together!
