F.O.R.M. Curriculum Review: A Faith-Centered Homeschool PE Program for All Ages
We all want our kids to be healthy and active, right? Getting outside, running around, and playing in sports all have a big part to play in our family’s goals to make that happen. Among other things, it improves their moods, keeps illness at bay, and helps them focus!
But even in a family where the kids are active, having a solid homeschool physical education program has it’s definite benefits:

How F.O.R.M. Works in Practice
The F.O.R.M. Curriculum is organized into 32 core modules, with additional optional modules and supplements for middle and high school students.
Each module follows the same general structure:
- Academic instruction (video-based, with optional reading)
- A Christian devotional (middle and high school)
- Physical activity: warm-up, movement training, and cool-down
- A “Fuel Challenge” that applies nutrition concepts in practical ways
Each module takes about one hour total, but families can schedule them at whatever pace works best.
Pacing Options
- Completing one module per week (about an hour once a week) will finish the program in a year. This also fulfills a PE credit for your high schooler.
- Complete in a semester or over the summer with faster pacing (this could work for a high schooler trying to cram in a credit, but I’m not sure it’s best otherwise).
- Go at a more casual pace with one module every 2-4 weeks. You could split content up across multiple weeks like this, which could be a good option for elementary kids.
What’s the Difference Between Elementary and Middle/High School Editions?
As I said before, the homeschool license for the F.O.R.M. Curriculum gives you both the Elementary and Middle/High School editions for one lifetime purchase. But what’s the difference between the two?
The topics are the same in both editions, but there are some differences to note. The Middle/High School edition has the following:
- Longer video lessons
- Optional Teaching Slides
- Guided Notes Options – Online fill-in notes or printable guided notes
- Christian Devotional Guide – Scripture passage, reflection, and questions
- Auto-graded assessments – multiple choice, longer assessments for high school
These additions really enhance the content to make it great for a full high school credit.

Optional Bonus Content
In addition to the core program of the F.O.R.M. Curriculum, there are some features that are optional but excellent additions to your Christian homeschool physical education course. You can add them to beef things up or drop them when life gets full.
- Parent Lesson Guides – Lesson summaries, key takeaways, discussion questions, and action steps for deeper engagement and character training.

How We Used F.O.R.M. in Our Homeschool
F.O.R.M. has a LOT to offer, but don’t let that overwhelm you! Start with the basics and explore as you go, adding what seems like a good fit for your family and whatever season you’re in.
We dipped into the F.O.R.M. Curriculum by starting with my two high school girls. One of them needs the movement because she’s a just-let-me-read-all-day type 😉 , and the other one wanted some extra training to step up her fitness for basketball season.
We choose to do F.O.R.M. one day a week. It’s been the ideal pacing for us and I’ll continue that for my elementary kids, too. The girls do the lessons and then we go over the devotional together.

Consider Making it a Family Activity
One thing I am considering is doing the lessons along with my kids and all of us doing the videos together, with just the older kids doing the additional content. Then we can have the discussions about the devotions together at the table. But we’ll see! My younger boys like the idea of having their own track, too, so they may just stick with that.
