Firmly Rooted. Built Up. Overflowing. (A Coffee for the Soul Devotion)

Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude. ~ Colossians 2:6-7
Real and lasting joy is reserved for the believer in Christ. It comes from that deep spring within us – the Holy Spirit – and from an intimate walk with Jesus. If you feel lacking in gratitude this holiday season, consider your walk with Him. If your joy is trickling instead of flowing, ground yourself in the profound and yet simple truth of the gospel.

Amen, amen and amen. The longer I live the more convinced I am that everything (and I do mean *everything*) hinges on whether it is in submission and obedience to Christ or not. Seems every time I try to take the proverbial steering wheel without His principles or word in mind I sideswipe a tree or worse. Thank God that He is faithful to put up with all of us as we waffle along.

Yes thank God indeed! I know I’m constantly ramming into trees. 🙂
