Candy Cane Printable Pack

Hasn’t this year gone fast? I can’t believe that it is nearly time for Christmas again. The shops here are starting to fill up with lots of yummy Christmas treats, including those fun peppermint lollies; candy canes. Which, for some reason our boys don’t like and refuse to eat, but I always buy a couple to use in our Christmas studies. I created this candy cane printable pack to go with these fun treats and the book, The Legend of the Christmas Cane by Lori Walburg.

Whether the legend of the candy cane is true or not (no one seems to know if it is), it is a great  way to teach children about the love of Jesus and all that He has done for us.

Included in this 78 page printable pack are:

  • The Legend of the Candy Cane posters – These posters include the Bible verses that relate to each of the spiritual meanings of the candy cane.
  • Bible Verse Copywork – Copywork containing each of the Bible verses from the posters. There are two versions, the King James Version and the English Standard Version.
  • Alphabet Puzzles – The letters of the alphabet are ‘dressed up’ in the colours of candy canes and once cut up, can be used as matching cards.
  • Handwriting Practice –  These pages are great for practicing certain letters of the alphabet as well as learning to spell and work on handwriting.
  • Follow the Path- These pages are great for hand-eye co-ordination. Draw a line down the middle of the path, trying not to hit the sides.
  • Maze and puzzles pages
  • Vocabulary cards that can be used for matching and spelling practice as well as games like memory and snap
  • Size Sequencing Cards and Pages
  • Simple Addition Page where you colour in the answer
  • Simple Subtraction Page, again where you colour in the answer
  • Shadow Matching Cards
  • Story Pages – 6 pages where your child can write a few sentences or a short story about certain things about the legend of the candy cane and how they feel about it. It is a great way for them to get in some creative writing practice.
  • Count and Clip number cards

I hope your children enjoy reading and learning about the legend of the candy cane this festive season!
