Day 3 of the Matthew Bible Lego Challenge! Today we’re reading about John the Baptist.

Now, I gave my son the choice of what to build and he wanted to build the baptism scene for this day and the trinity for the “Baptism of Jesus” challenge tomorrow, because the appearance of each Person in the trinity is what he remembered most from our last reading of this book. So, I went with the 7 year old. 🙂

You could certainly do a wilderness scene with John the Baptist living in his element, him baptizing many in the river, or whatever stands out to your little ones the most. Then do the baptism scene tomorrow. Totally up to you and your kids!

If you haven’t downloaded the printable yet, you want to do that right away! You can do the challenge on your own (there are 34 days total with copywork and notebooking pages) or you can use it to follow along with us here and share your creations with us on the Proverbial Homemaker Facebook pageTwitter, and Instagram!

For the third day of the challenge, we are looking at Matthew 3:1-12 and the story of John the Baptist. For our build challenge, we made the baptism scene with John and Jesus at the river. My son kept it simple this time that’s ok! Then he tipped it on it’s side and said “hey look, John the Baptist and Jesus are claiming a wall!” Ok then.

The copywork for the challenge is Matthew 3:2 with a hearty call to repentance from John the Baptist. The printable includes a drawing and writing page for those who would rather draw the scene.

Another idea for this build is to make a baptismal and show a pastor baptizing new believers similar to how John the Baptist baptized those seeking to repent! You could even experiment and see if you can make one that will hold water. 🙂

Have fun building with your kids! Don’t forget to email me their creations or share them on the Proverbial Homemaker Facebook pageTwitter, and Instagram. Can’t wait to see them!
